The SmarTach Tachograph offers several useful functions
 
- Programmable «key-on/key-off» function : the default driver activity upon contact on/off can be defined by the truck owner
- Programmable over-speed warning
- Visual and audible alert to help drivers respect the EU 561/2006 regulation about rest
- “Out of scope” mode : for driving the truck without driver card (e.g. for service/maintenance) without recording an infringement

Thanks to the possibility to make in-the-field software updates to the SmarTach, trucks with Actia’s SmarTach tachograph can always be compliant with EU regulations and also benefit from new innovative features from Actia. This capability allows you to offer a true value added service that will make your customers come back regularly: a quick and simple operation to load the new software into the tachograph in the truck – no need to demount or change the equipment.

A SmarTach Update does not take more than 15 minutes and modifies only the tachograph’s functional software. The activity data recorded in the tachograph are not affected by the operation, and remain protected and confidential.

This is how easy it is to begin making SmarTach updates:

- Go to Actia’s website www.actiatachographs.com and use the “Product Registration” link on the left site to access the registration form for SmarTach firmware updates.

- Once you are registered, you will get access to additional information about the SmarTach, including technical documentation about the reprogramming

- Use the “SmarTach Update ” link to download the latest version of “Smartach Update” and the concise user’s guide

- You are now ready to update your customers’ SmarTach tachographs

- The “Smartach Update” utility software will alert you when a new update is available.
